Intensive English Program for Adults
 |
| |
 |
If you are looking for fast paced
English learning, then intensive courses are the best
choice for you. The program is specifically
designed for teenage and early adult school
students.
This is a 16 level course ranging
from Starter to Advanced levels. The course is | |
| complimented with a supplementary
grammar course up to Upper-Intermediate level. |
SIS
Instructors |
Our teachers, all from America, Australia, Canada, England
and New Zealand have internationally recognized
qualifications and their skills are regularly updated through workshops and training
sessions.
The methods we use in the classroom are designed to
ensure that our students are communicating and interacting
in English at every step.
Every class has both a native English teacher and a
Cambodian bi-lingual teacher. Students not only benefit from
hearing a native speaker but also have
the security of a teacher who can communicate in both
languages if the need arises for further explanation. By utilizing this style of teaching, we
ensure that our students understand the content of the
course and can readily access a native speaker to model
language form.
SIS teachers on the Intensive Program are specifically trained
for teaching
teenagers. |

Learning and Teaching
Materials |
Students receive a set of classroom text books.
Materials include; student book; workbook; cassette tapes,
CDs
(If required).
This material forms the core of the syllabus and is
supplemented by teachers from an extensive range of
supplementary material available in our teachers’ office. |
| |
Computer Assisted Language
Learning (CALL) |
Also available to our Intensive Program students is the
SIS computer and listening laboratory. Our laboratory is
well equipped with modern educationally
renowned software from around the world. Our teachers, who
are specifically trained in methods utilizing technology,
provide an environment where our students can practice their
listening and pronunciation using programs and technology
designed to challenge and stimulate young minds. This most
modern addition to language teaching is currently at the
forefront of contemporary teaching methods and is recognized
as a highly successful medium.

Regular
Assessment |
As part of SIS’s assurance to guarantee quality and
ensure our students progress, we regularly assess our
students performance using both progress tests and exams.
Core English skills are tested throughout the term using
regular progress checks and end of term examinations. This allows
us to provide parents immediate
feedback on their child’s performance in addition to identifying
students that are experiencing difficulties with particular skills.
This affords the teacher the opportunity to individualize
methods and ensures all students are achieving to their full
potential. |

SIS Course
Certificates |
At the end of each course, students receive a
certificate of achievement from SIS. This certificate is
awarded to each
student on successful completion of the course and is
given to the student at an 'in class awards ceremony'. This
certificate can be used to verify a student’s English skill.
Students’ achievements at SIS are recognized unreservedly as
we strive to maintain a sense of accomplishment and
motivation at the end of each course. Our awards ceremonies
are normally followed by an in class party and activities to
celebrate the conclusion of the course.
